Google (GOOG) in Talks to Acquire Stake in Branson's Space Venture Virgin Galactic

Google, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) is in talks to acquire a stake in Sir Richard Branson's $2 billion space tourism venture, Virgin Galactic, according to reports from Sky News.
The reports suggest the discussions with Virgin Galactic relate to Google's ambition to put hundreds of satellites in low-Earth orbit to boarded internet access the globe.
The deal is expected to have two components: First, Google will invest hundreds of millions of dollars into a joint venture with Virgin Galactic, which will fold in its technology developed to build the world’s first space tourism business. Second, Google will invest roughly $30 million for a small stake in the Virgin Galactic holding company.
