Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is active Wednesday following news that it has come under yet another lawsuit.
The WSJ said that German auto-parts company, IPCom GmbH, filed a $2 billion suit against Apple claiming infringement of cellular telephone technology. The suit was filed in a regional court in Mannheim.
IPCom's claim centers around technology that gives emergency calls priority on mobile networks. The firm acquired the patent from Robert Bosch GmbH in 2007.
Specifically, IPCom is looking for €1.57 billion (about $2.12 billion) for Apple to utilize the technology, which gives mobile handsets to various telecom network providers. IPCom said it was a mandatory element of the UMTS and LTE cellphone standards.
Shares of Apple are about flat in early trading.
