Bill Ackman to Keep Lower Public Profile Amid Herbalife (HLF) Woes - FBN

December 2, 2013 2:54 PM EST
Activist investor Bill Ackman is looking "to keep a lower public profile" in the Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) battle and likely won't do TV interviews anymore," FOX Business Network (FBN) Senior Correspondent Charlie Gasparino reported.

"[Ackman] I think, is now admitting, and I think this is kind of key in this Herbalife battle, that he has lost the PR war at least so far," Gasparino. "And that he is telling people that he is going to keep a lower public profile. He's telling people he is likely, and I'm saying this like I believe it when I don't see it, likely not to do TV interviews anymore."

Today's reports will likely give Carl Icahn a laugh. In response to Bill Ackman's recent "octogenarian billionaires" comments on Herbalife, Icahn quipped: "Ackman complained at an Oxford conference that every time I went on TV and mentioned Herbalife, the stock went up a few points. Well, that's also true of him."
