Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE: FCX) held onto gains intraday on Thursday. The stock opened higher after chairman James Moffett purchased 1 million shares, bringing his total stake to 4.07 million shares. The purchase was revealed in an SEC filing released late on Wednesday. Purchases took place on July 29th and 30th.
