Stocks showing a "golden cross" moving pattern. For our list, we're using a 20-day SMA moving above a 50-day SMA, which may be more of a near-term indicator. The list is also ranked by activity, not today's performance.
- Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX) - up 1 percent today, the 20-day just got over the 50-day this week, though the two are now showing somewhat of a parallel downward pattern. The 20-day is at $19.7 and the 50-day at $19.57. Barrick also hit a new 52-week low at $16.16 today.
- Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) - also at a 52-week low of $28.85 today. Miners have had a tough week as gold and silver slipped on Fed comments this week.
- Finisar Corp. (Nasdaq: FNSR) - the 20-day moved above the 50-day SMA around June 11th this month. The company has been on the move since issuing solid results on Thursday morning, getting a Buy rating from Craig-Hallum today.
- Cytokinetics Inc. (Nasdaq: CYTK) - started moving higher earlier this week after announcing that results from ATOMIC-AHF have been accepted for presentation during a Hot Line Late Breaking Trials Session at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2013. Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) also disclosed an increased stake in the company the next day.
- Endo Health Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: ENDP) - Endo is retracing much of its recent gains. The company said it would be paying $54.5 million following a recent settlement. Oppenheimer also started coverage on the stock at Perform today.
