Home Depot (NYSE: HD) and Lowe's (NYSE: LOW) are ticking higher as more and more folks in the Northeastern U.S, face down winter storm Nemo.
Consumers will probably be pining for more shovels, snow blowers, and salt. The duo also sell winter gloves, for those that are late to the game.
The storm might bring a little surprise upside when quarterly reports are issued the the middle of the month. Despite recent trouble last quarter on a late fall selling season, Home Depot and Lowe's generally come out ahead. Home Depot is up about 9 percent sine its last report in November 2012, while Lowe's is up over 21 percent.
Shares of both are better on Friday's session.
