Wal-mart (WMT) Affirms Plans to Sell RIM (RIMM) BB10 Devices in Canada
Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) is getting a little more help with the initial release of its BlackBerry 10 operating system from the world's largest retailer.
According to Bloomberg, Wal-mart (NYSE: WMT) Canada spokesperson Alex Roberton said the retailer would sell BB10 smartphones in Canada. Wal-mart Canada will being taking pre-orders for the devices and plan to commence sales on January 30th, right along with RIM's BB10 event.
Wal-mart news today is in addition to the Company's plans to sell the BB10 smartphones in U.S. stores, announced earlier in January.
Roberton comments come from a meeting at Bloomberg's Toronto office.
RIM shares are up 10.4 percent Tuesday following a positive call at Scotia Capital earlier. For more color, click here.
