Notable ETF Movers of the Day 12/07: (TAN) (XLB) Higher; (VXX) Lower

Gainers:
Guggenheim Solar ETF (NYSE: TAN) gained 2.2 percent to 14.63. JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: JKS) was among today's winners, climbing 12.5 percent on reports of massive state aid from China. LDK Solar Co., Ltd. (NYSE: LDK) and Trina Solar Limited (NYSE: TSL) also saw huge gains.
Materials Select Sector SPDR (XLB) gained 0.75 percent to 36.00. LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE: LYB) gained 3.5 percent, with broad strength across the sector. Today's jobs number came in at 146,000 vs. 85,000 expected, lifting a number of sectors in the S&P 500, including materials.
Decliners:
iPath S&P 500 VIX ST Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) declined 1.75 percent. Implied volatility on the S&P 500 continues to trade at relatively low levels, with the VIX falling 3 percent on Friday. Some expect volatility to pick up�as the�U.S. economy approaching the so-called fiscal cliff, but for now the 'fear index' isn’t pricing in much fear at all.
