PriceSmart (PSMT) Reports 8.4% Increase in October Sales

PriceSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSMT) today announced that for the month of October 2012, net warehouse club sales increased 8.4% to $173.0 million from $159.6 million in October a year earlier. For the two months ended October 31, 2012, net warehouse club sales increased 11.1% to $340.0 million from $305.9 million for the two months ended October 31, 2011. There were 30 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of October 2012 and 29 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of October 2011.

For the four weeks ended October 28, 2012, comparable warehouse sales for the 28 warehouse clubs open at least 13 1/2 full months increased 7.4%, compared to the same four-week period last year. For the eight-week period ended October 28, 2012, comparable warehouse sales increased 8.7%, compared to the same eight-week period a year ago.
