RIM (RIMM) Snuffs-Out Leaked L-Series Smartphone, BB10 Demo Video
What's Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) hiding anyway?
According to CNET, RIM is trying to quash the best possible news it could have: a new device and operating system demo leak. Evidently, a BlackBerry rep in Mexico was demonstrating a feature of BlackBerry 10 (how to "rewind" a photo, apparently) on an L-Series device... something RIM hasn't disclosed yet.
Videos and some photos have popped up for a while now and RIM has to expect that testing and demoing new products anywhere aside from their secret lair hidden 20-floors below sea level in a remote part of Waterloo, Ontario, will result in a photo op for the media hungry tech crowd. Even Apple has a tough time hiding product information (iPhone 4, anyone? Or, any product since 2009?).
Mysteriously, the video on CNET's website (here) is gone. Just ahead of Halloween, too! Spookkkyyyy!
Shares of RIM are down 1.2 percent Friday.
