The following is a list of stocks crossing the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) and are either above or below the metric. The 50-day is considered an indicator of a potential near-term trend formation.

- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (Nasdaq: GMCR) - up 6.6 percent. Large holder Stephen Magowan boosted his stake in the company to a total of 6,903,699 shares (3,600 held by Magowan and the rest in a trust).
- Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE: COF) - up 2.7 percent. Moving higher on peer Discover Financial's (NYSE: DFS) quarterly numbers. Shares had been supported by the 50-day up until a recent dip.
- Nike, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) - up 1.1 percent. Popping ahead of first-quarter 2013 results, expected out later today.
- Youku Tudou Inc. (NYSE: YOKU) - up 5.1 percent. Shaking off a Maxim Group downgrade earlier as broader markets are raising sentiment.
- Research In Motion Ltd (Nasdaq: RIMM) - down 2.9 percent. Some profit taking following a 6.6 percent move higher Wednesday on positive comments out of its BlackBerry Jam 10 event.
- Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR) - down 1.7 percent. S&P cuts its rating on Alpha Natural from BB- down to B+, outlook stable. Ratings were removed from CreditWatch.
- Cephid (Nasdaq: CPHD) - down 7.8 percent. Making a drop following preliminary Q3 results. Goldman Sachs, however, thinks shares are oversold. Click here for more color from Goldman.
