Stocks Crossing 50-Day SMA 09/19: (FB) (CLWR) (RENN) Above; (QCOR) (USO) (NIHD) Below

The following is a list of stocks crossing the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) and are either above or below the metric. The 50-day is considered an indicator of a potential near-term trend formation.

Crossing and above:
  • Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) - up 5.0 percent. Moving above the 50-day for the first time since its IPO in May. The 50-day is currently calculated at $22.45.

  • Clearwire Corp. (Nasdaq: CLWR) - up 9.3 percent. Positive comments from Sprint (NYSE: S) CEO Dan Hesse at a Goldman conference today. Click here for more.

  • Renren Inc. (Nasdaq: RENN) - up percent. Popping on positive comments from Media Tech Capital's Porter Bibb on CNBC earlier. Bibb said Renren was the "Facebook of China."

  • Dendreon Corp. (Nasdaq: DNDN) - up 7.2 percent. Getting a boost from several peers in the biotech segment today. Dendreon is also making a solid move after gapping above $5 Wednesday. Shares are fixing on a four-session winning streak with a close higher today.
Crossing and below:
  • Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: QCOR) - down 44.3 percent. Questcor initially dipped on reports that Aetna would not reimburse its Acthar Gel, setting in motion panic that peers might follow suit. However, the pharma issued a statement Wednesday saying it was reviewing the insurance policy bulletin and does not believe that the bulletin represents a material change in insurance coverage for Acthar by Aetna.

  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO)- down 3.9 percent. Lower as crude is getting smashed today. Some are attributing the move to a "Fat Finger" event.

  • NII Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: NIHD) - down 1.8 percent. Lower as Sprint is aiming to desemble Nextel further. NII provides wireless services in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Chile under the Nextel brand name.
