Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) 16% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.22, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter came in at $5.5 billion versus the consensus estimate of $5.73 billion. Including the impact of the 53rd week in fiscal 2012, as well as the unfavorable impact of foreign currency exchange rates, the company expects full year sales to be flat compared to the prior year and full year diluted earnings per share to increase in the low single-digits versus adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.37 achieved in 2011.

Physicians Formula Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: FACE) 15% HIGHER; Swander Pace Capital will acquire all outstanding shares of the common stock of Physicians Formula for $4.25 per share in cash, or approximately $65 million.

American Apparel (NYSE: APP) 13% HIGHER; reported Q2 loss of $0.14, versus $0.00 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $149.46 million, versus $132.8 million reported last year. Raises EBITDA guidance

Netlist, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST) 13% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.14), $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.06). Revenue for the quarter came in at $10.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $14.05 million.

Canadian Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) 13% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.59), $0.29 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.30). Revenue for the quarter came in at $348.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $393.9 million. Solar module shipments were 412 MW, compared to 343 MW in the first quarter of 2012. For the third quarter of 2012, shipments are expected to be in the range of approximately 390MW to 420MW, with gross margin expected to be between 2.0% and 5.0%.

Crumbs Bake Shop, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRMB) 10% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.14), $0.06 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.08). Revenue for the quarter came in at $11.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $19.2 million.

Deere & Co. (NYSE: DE) 5% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $1.98, $0.33 worse than the analyst estimate of $2.31. Revenue for the quarter came in at $9.59 billion versus the consensus estimate of $9.55 billion

JDS Uniphase Corp (NASDAQ: JDSU) 5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.15, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter came in at $439.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $428.2 million. JDS Uniphase Corp sees Q1 2013 revenue of $415-435 million, versus the consensus of $427.06 million.

OfficeMax Incorporated (NYSE: OMX) 4% LOWER; lower on Staples results

Myriad Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ: MYGN) 4% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.34, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.34. Revenue for the quarter came in at $133 million versus the consensus estimate of $131.85 million. Myriad Genetics, Inc. sees FY2012 EPS of $1.44-1.48, versus the consensus of $1.30. Myriad Genetics, Inc. sees FY2012 revenue of $550-565 million, versus the consensus of $494.50 million.
