Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 05/23: (SCHS) (AMBT) (PCX) Higher; (DELL) (EGLE) (GENE) Lower

School Specialty (Nasdaq: SCHS) 23.5% HIGHER; today announced that it has refinanced its existing credit facility with two new separate agreements. The new multi-year agreements consist of a secured $200 million asset-based credit agreement with a group co-led by affiliates of Wells Fargo & Company and GE Capital, and a separate secured $70 million credit agreement with an affiliate of Bayside Capital, Inc. The new agreements replace the credit agreement dated April 23, 2010, and last amended on July 1, 2011, which had outstanding borrowings of $130 million as of May 18, 2012.

Ambient Corp. (Nasdaq: AMBT) 22.4% HIGHER; the stock didn't trade til after 10:30am ET this morning, at which time shares began pushing over a technical level at $4.50. Volume spiked heavily as the stock approached the $5 level and eventually pushed over that resistance level. About 350,000 shares of the stock have traded today, which compares to average daily volume of just 3,000 shares.

Patriot Coal Corporation (NYSE: PCX) 18.4% HIGHER; rebounding following a massive sell off Tuesday on Patriot being in talks with advisors over strategic alternatives.

Dell, Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) 17.8% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.43, $0.03 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter came in at $14.42 billion versus the consensus estimate of $14.91 billion.

Seabridge Gold (NYSE: SA) 13.6% HIGHER; the stock is over the $14 level today; shares briefly pushed over $15. Volume is very heavy.

MELA Sciences (Nasdaq: MELA) 14.4% HIGHER; Cowen initiated coverage on the stock with an Outperform.

Eagle Bulk Shipping (Nasdaq: EGLE) 13.4% LOWER; Global Hunter Securities started Eagle Bulk at Reduce and 75 cent price target. Traders are reacting to a 1-for-4 reverse split which went effective today.

Genetic Technologies (Nasdaq: GENE) 13.3% LOWER traders are likely taking profits today following a 65 percent surge amid news the company saw an uptick in BREVAGen sales.

Petsmart, Inc. (Nasdaq: PETM) 11.9% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.85, $0.12 better than the analyst estimate of $0.73. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.63 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.6 billion. Sees FY2012 EPS of $3.19-$3.31, versus prior guidance of $3.02-$3.16 and the consensus of $3.14. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of $0.61-$0.65, versus the consensus of $0.65.

Consolidated Communications (Nasdaq: CNSL) 12.5% LOWER; a DA Davidson analysts earlier reduced estimates and her price target on the stock, saying the company raised debt to finance a deal with SureWest at a higher-than-expected rate of 10.875 percent. The analyst's target went to $16.50.
