Viacom (VIA-B), Time Warner (TWC) Settle Mobile Distribution Dispute

May 17, 2012 9:35 AM EDT
According to Thursday reports, Viacom (NYSE: VIA-B) and Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) settled a legal dispute which had Viacom shows being prevented from streaming to the iPad.

The resolution stemmed from a lawsuit last year in which Viacom sued Time Warner to prevent it from distribution Viacom content on mobile devices. Time Warner counter-sued, seeking a court ruling to allow distribution to continue.

Though terms were private, Bloomberg cites a source who said Time Warner won't be paying more for the rights.

Of course, streaming isn't just limited to Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad. Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android-based devices, the iPhone, heck, even Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone devices will be able to stream Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
