Both Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) shares are moving higher Monday afternoon following reports of a potential changing of the guard in China.
According to Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Tech section, Apple is mulling the idea of integrating Baidu's search model into iOS. The move is a strong one for both, allowing users in China to utilize the more-familiar Baidu search engine in lieu of Google (Nasdaq: GOOG).
Apple is already said to have integrated Baidu into the next version of its OS X.
The move comes following news Apple CEO Tim Cook recently returned from China, saying he had "great meetings" while there.
Apple shares are up 1.7 percent Monday, while shares of Baidu are 4.4 percent better. Google shares are up just 0.8 percent.
