AVI BioPharma (Nasdaq: AVII) 10.5% LOWER; files a $100 million mixed securities shelf.

FuelCell Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: FCEL) 9.9% LOWER; will offer shares of common stock in an underwritten public offering. The Company also expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase additional shares of common stock offered in the public offering to cover over-allotments, if any.

Lubys, Inc. (NYSE: LUB) 9.7% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.05, $0.06 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter came in at $79.4 million versus the consensus estimate of $78.32 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $0.15-$0.18, versus prior guidance of $0.09-$0.12 and the consensus of $0.09.

Shoe Carnival, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCVL) 8.6% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.24, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.21. Revenue for the quarter came in at $181.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $181.13 million. Shoe Carnival, Inc. sees Q1 2012 EPS of $0.75-$0.78, versus the consensus of $0.70.

Sonic Corp (NASDAQ: SONC) 6.3% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.03, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenue for the quarter came in at $115.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $114.86 million. Same-store sales rose 3.5 percent during the quarter. Sees positive comps during 2012.

Discovery Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSCO) 3.9% HIGHER; today announced that it has completed its previously announced public offering to sell an aggregate of 16,071,429 shares of its common stock under Discovery Labs' previously filed registration statement that was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 21, 2011. The offering remains subject to the underwriters' 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2,410,714 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.

Herman Miller, Inc. (NASDAQ: MLHR) 2.3% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.26, $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter came in at $399.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $409.6 million.

Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS) 1.4% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $1.18, $0.29 better than the analyst estimate of $0.89. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.84 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.8 billion. Discover card sales volume was up 7 percent during the quarter.

HCP (NYSE: HCP) 1.2% LOWER; will offer 9 million shares of common stock. Expecting to use $295.5 million in proceeds to redeem its preferred stock.

Costamare Inc. (NYSE: CMRE) 1% LOWER; announced today that it plans to offer 7,500,000 shares of its common stock. Members of the Konstantakopoulos family, who in the aggregate own a majority of the common stock of the Company, have indicated their intention to purchase up to 750,000 shares in the offering. In connection with the offering, the Company intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 1,125,000 additional shares of its common stock.

Diamond Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq: DMND) 0.7% LOWER; announced the Company has reached an agreement with its lenders to amend its credit agreement. Under the amended agreement, Diamond, working with its current bank group, will have continued access to its existing revolving credit facility through June 18, 2012 subject to Diamond's compliance with the terms and conditions of the amendment. During this period, Diamond will continue to make scheduled term loan payments. Also, Diamond continues to make progress with its restatement and is pursuing actions with its financial advisor, Dean Bradley Osborne, to explore capital alternatives to strengthen the Company's balance sheet. The amendment requires Diamond to suspend dividend payments to stockholders. The interest rate on borrowings under the facility will increase by 75 basis points. In addition, Diamond has agreed to pay a one-time forbearance fee of 25 basis points to its lenders.
