Life Partners (Nasdaq: LPHI) 33.3% LOWER; SEC charges the company with disclosure and accounting fraud.

LCA-Vision Inc. (NASDAQ: LCAV) 26.3% HIGHER; today reported that 14,205 procedures were performed during the fourth quarter of 2011, an increase of 30% compared with 10,891 procedures during the fourth quarter of 2010. Same-store procedures increased by 33% from 10,671 procedures during the fourth quarter of 2010, the fifth consecutive quarter of year-over-year same-store procedure growth.

Acme Packet (Nasdaq: APKT) 19.8% LOWER; sees Q4 adj-EPS 26-28c, vs. the consensus of 37 cents, sales $84-$86 million, vs. the consensus of $93.4 million. Cut its FY11 adj-EPS guidance from $1.14-$1.18 to $1.03-$1.05 and sales from $315-$320 million to $308-$310 million.

Broadsoft (Nasdaq: BSFT) 15% LOWER; breaking below the 200-day on very heavy volume.

US Energy (Nasdaq: USEG) 12.6% LOWER; giving up all gains from yesterday. Back below the $3 level.

BioMimetic Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: BMTI) 12.4% LOWER; shares are slumping in after-hours trading, following reports that the FDA would need more information needed for approval of its Pre-Market Approval application for Augment Bone Graft for use as an alternative to autograft in hindfoot and ankle fusion procedures.

Prana Biotech (Nasdaq: PRAN) 12.3% HIGHER; received FDA approval for the trial of PBT2 in patient's with Huntington's Disease.

Progress Software Corp (NASDAQ: PRGS) 10.9% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.34, versus the analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter came in at $136.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $133.44 million. Sees Q1 2012 EPS of $0.25, versus the consensus of $0.38. Sees Q1 2012 revenue of $120 million, versus the consensus of $132.04 million.

Unilife Corporation (NASDAQ: UNIS) 10.5% HIGHER; Jefferies initiates coverage on the stock with a Buy. PT $7.00. Click here to see the full report.

Amarin Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AMRN) 9.4% LOWER; announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Corsicanto Limited, a private limited company incorporated under the laws of Ireland, priced its previously announced offering of $150 million in aggregate principal amount of exchangeable senior notes due 2032 to qualified institutional buyers in reliance on Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended.

Advance America, Cash Advance Centers (NYSE: AEA) 8.2% LOWER; plunging below support at $9. Volume spiked heavily as the stock went under this level.

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) 7.9% LOWER; Natixis downgraded the stock from Buy to Neutral.

TiVo Inc. (Nasdaq: TIVO) 7.8% HIGHER; announced today that it has settled its pending patent litigation with AT&T (NYSE: T) and that the companies have entered into a mutual patent licensing arrangement. Under the terms of the settlement, AT&T agreed to pay TiVo an initial payment of $51 million, followed by recurring quarterly guaranteed payments through June 2018, totaling $164 million, which together yield minimum payments of $215 million. In addition to these minimum payments, AT&T will pay incremental recurring per subscriber monthly license fees through July 2018 should AT&T's DVR subscriber base exceed certain levels. As part of the settlement, TiVo and AT&T agreed to dismiss all pending litigation between the companies with prejudice.
