(Nasdaq: TRGT) 31.4% LOWER; AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) and Targacept announced top-line results from the second of four RENAISSANCE Phase 3 studies investigating the efficacy and tolerability of TC-5214 as an adjunct therapy to an antidepressant in patients with major depressive disorder who do not respond adequately to initial antidepressant treatment. Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) 30.8% HIGHER; today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., has entered into a sales agreement with TransCanada Corporation (NYSE: TRP), whereby TransCanada will acquire from Canadian Solar a 86 MW AC solar project portfolio for approximately $470 million Canadian dollars.

Cobalt International Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CIE) 21.3% HIGHER; announced that at an official signing ceremony today in Luanda, Sonangol and Cobalt executives signed the Production Sharing Contract for Block 20 offshore Angola. Prestige Brands Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PBH) 20% HIGHER; has signed a definitive agreements with Glaxo (NYSE: GSK) to acquire 17 over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical brands sold in North America for a total of $660 million in cash.

Double Eagle Petroleum (Nasdaq: DBLE) 18.8% HIGHER; after bouncing off support at $6, shares are now over the $7 level. Volume is very heavy toda.

Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: PGNX) 17% HIGHER; Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. (NASDAQ: SLXP) and Progenics today announced the successful outcome of the Phase 3 trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral methylnaltrexone for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation in subjects with chronic, non-cancer pain. Doral Financial (NYSE: DRL) 15% HIGHER; traders likely diving in today following the disclose of a 735,835 share purchase by the company's CEO Glen Wakeman on Dec. 16th.

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) 12.2% HIGHER; trading higher following last night's news AT&T (NYSE: T) has ended talks to acquire T-Mobile USA.

ACADIA Pharma (Nasdaq: ACAD) 10.8% HIGHER; continuing to bounce above the $1 support level. Volume remains very heavy today.

Juniper Networks (Nasdaq: JNPR) 9.6% HIGHER; also trading higher amid news AT&T is no longer bidding for T-Mobile USA.

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT) 7.8% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.28, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $0.19. Revenue for the quarter came in at $290 million versus the consensus estimate of $289.62 million. Sees Q4 adj-EPS of 26-27c, vs. the consensus of 26c. Sees sales of $289-$292 million, vs. the consensus of $292.5 million. Raises its FY12 adj-EPS guidance from $1.03-$1.05 to $1.07-$1.08, vs. the Street estimate of $1.05.
