Goldman Sachs initiates coverage on Cloud Peak Energy (NYSE: CLD) with a Neutral rating and $24 price target.
The firm calls Cloud Peak Energy the only publicly-traded "pureplay" PRB coal producer.
Goldman is positive on the company earnings/returns resiliency at a time most US coal businesses are under significant downward pressure. That said they firm rates shares at Neutral as the shares have less attractive catalysts and upside versus Buy-rated CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX).
