Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 11/08: (ATVI) (TRAK) (MCD) High; (ALU) (TRGT) (XIDE) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI) high of $14.40. Activision up 4.8 percent following the release of the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Analysts expected it to be the best selling game for Activision, since Black Ops was released. Activision is expected to report earnings after the market closes as well.

  • DealerTrack Holdings (Nasdaq: TRAK) high of $26.97. DealerTrack moving over 18 percent higher on the session to it's new annual mark, following solid earnings and guidance issued after the market closed Monday. Third-quarter earnings came in at 34 cents per share on revenue of $95.8 million, beating views calling for earnings of 22 cents per share and revenue of $88.5 million. For fiscal 2011, DealerTrack raised earnings expectations from a range of 81 to 86 cents per share to 94 to 99 cents per share, and revs from $336 to $340 million to $344 to $347 million. The Street was looking for earnings of 84 cents per share and revenue of $338.2 million.

  • McDonald's Corp. (NYSE: MCD) high of $95.45. McDonald's reported comparable-store sales increased 5.5 percent in October. Sharse moved slightly higher on the session.

  • Procera Networks, Inc. (NYSE: PKT) high of $14.38. Procera reported fourth-quarter earnings of 14 cents per share on revenue of $12.2 million, versus consensus views calling for a loss of 3 cents per share and revenue of $8.09 million. Procera sees fiscal 2011 revenue of $40 million, compared with the consensus of $35.2 million.
52-Week Low:
  • Alcatel-Lucent, S.A. (NYSE: ALU) low of $2.06. Alcatel-Lucent was lowered by BofA/Merrill Lynch from Buy to Neutral Tuesday morning.

  • Targacept, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRGT) low of $7.93. Targacept got slammed Tuesday morning following reports the first of four RENAISSANCE Phase 3 studies investigating the efficacy and tolerability of TC-5214 missed its primary endpoint. Shares moved as much as 59 percent lower on the session.

  • Exide Technologies (Nasdaq: XIDE) low of $2.98. Exide reported a second-quarter GAAP loss of 5 cents per share with revenue of $773 million. The Street was looking for earnings of 11 cents per share, though the two numbers might not be comparable. Exide moved over 33 percent lower on the session.

  • Nomura Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NMR) low of $3.16. Nomura lower following speculation it might have played a part in the Olympus scandal. Nomura moved 14 percent lower on the session.
