Crocs (Nasdaq: CROX) 38% LOWER; cuts its Q3 EPS guidance from about 40 cents to 31-33 cents, which compares to the Street estimate of 40 cents. Lowers its sales outlook from about $280 million to $273-$275 million, vs. the consensus of $280.5 million. The stock was also downgraded at DA Davidson earlier.

Trans1 (Nasdaq: TSON) 36.9% LOWER; received subpoena issued from HHS OIG seeking documents from the period Jan. 2009 to October 6th of 2011. Trans1 cites Federal Healthcare Fraud and False Claims statute. The company has said no claims have been made against the company at this time.

Hospira (NYSE: HSP) 19.4% LOWER; offers preliminary Q3 results: sales of $977 million, vs. the consensus of $1.07 billion, with EPS of 66 cents, vs. the Street estimate of 95 cents. Lowers its FY11 EPS guidance from $3.90-$4 to $2.95-$3.05, which compares to the Street estimate of $3.92.

Active Power, Inc. (Nasdaq: ACPW) 17.6% LOWER; has appointed company director Jan Lindelow as interim president and CEO effective immediately. Lindelow succeeds Jim Clishem who has resigned as president and CEO and as a member of the company’s board of directors to pursue other interests. As previously announced, Active Power expects third quarter 2011 guidance to be between $18 million and $21 million in revenues with earnings per share between $(0.02) and $0.02. Any changes in cash and investments are expected to be due to changes in working capital requirements.

Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: HALO) 16.5% HIGHER; reports that the Phase 3 HannaH trial, conducted by Roche (OTCBB: RHHBY), showed that women with HER2-positive early breast cancer who received a new, investigational subcutaneous (SC) injection of Herceptin (trastuzumab), experienced comparable results to Herceptin given as an intravenous (IV) infusion. JMP Securities upgraded the stock from Market Perform to Market Outperform with a new price target of $9.00.

New Oriental Education & Technology Group (NYSE: EDU) 14.5% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.58, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.57. Revenue for the quarter came in at $272 million versus the consensus estimate of $263.83 million. Total student enrollments in academic subjects tutoring and test preparation courses increased by 14.6% year-over-year to approximately 807,700 from approximately 704,500 in the same period of the prior fiscal year. New Oriental Education & Technology Group sees Q2 2012 revenue of $124.4-$129.1 million, versus the consensus of $127.6 million.

STR Holdings (Nasdaq: STRI) 12.6% LOWER; cuts Q3 adj-EPS outlook about 1-2 cents from prior guidance of 12-16 cents. Sees sales of $51-$57 million.

Badger Meter (NYSE: BMI) 12.2% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.46, $0.09 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.55. Revenue for the quarter came in at $69.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $76.69 million.

O’Charley’s Inc. (Nasdaq: CHUX) 12.1% HIGHER; has completed a sale-leaseback of 50 O’Charley’s restaurant properties, which produced gross proceeds of approximately $105 million.

Coldwater Creek (Nasdaq: CWTR) 10.6% LOWER; sees Q3 sales $180-$190 million, vs. the consensus of $189.96 million, a loss of 30-36 cents per share, which compares to the Street estimate of a 28 cent loss. Sees Q4 loss of 17-26 cents per share, vs. the consensus of 28 cent loss.

American Public Education (Nasdaq: APEI) 9.9% LOWER; after holding extremely closely to the 200-day moving average over the last several trading sessions, the stock price has plunged below on heavy volume.

Human Genome Sciences (Nasdaq: HGSI) 9.1% HIGHER; chatter out of the UK's Mail. GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) could bid as much as $25 per share in cash for Human Genome.

Polaris Industries, Inc. (NYSE: PII) 8.5% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.95, $0.10 better than the analyst estimate of $0.85. Revenue for the quarter came in at $729.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $693.11 million. Polaris Industries, Inc. sees FY2011 EPS of $3.10-$3.16, versus the consensus of $3.11. Full year 2011 sales are now expected to grow in the range of 30 to 32 percent from 2010.

Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) 8.3% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.78, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.76. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.23 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.29 billion.

Conceptus, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPTS) 7.9% HIGHER; has won a favorable jury verdict in its patent infringement lawsuit against Hologic, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOLX) in the United States District Court, Northern District of California. The jury has awarded Conceptus $18.8 million in monetary damages.

Brown & Brown, Inc. (NYSE: BRO) 7.1% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.30, which may not compare to the analyst estimate of $0.31. Revenue for the quarter came in at $260.4 million versus the consensus estimate of $256.65 million. The adjusted number was 31 cents.

Kodiak Oil & Gas (NYSE: KOG) 7% HIGHER; this morning provided an interim corporate update. The company said it expects to complete and begin operations on 6 Net Williston wells.
