New Oriental Education (EDU) Tops Q1 EPS by 1c; Guides Q212 Revs; Tot. Enrollment Up 14.6%

New Oriental Education & Technology Group (NYSE: EDU) reported Q1 EPS of $0.58, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.57. Revenue for the quarter came in at $272 million versus the consensus estimate of $263.83 million.

Total student enrollments in academic subjects tutoring and test preparation courses increased by 14.6% year-over-year to approximately 807,700 from approximately 704,500 in the same period of the prior fiscal year.

New Oriental Education & Technology Group sees Q2 2012 revenue of $124.4-$129.1 million, versus the consensus of $127.6 million.
