- Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXN) high of $63.98. After the market closed yesterday, Alexion reported data from a Phase 2 study of eculizumab in patients with severe and refractory generalized myasthenia gravis which showed a strong disease improvement signal. The exploratory 14-patient study aimed to identify a clinically meaningful benefit of eculizumab in improving Quantitative Myasthenia Gravis disease severity score (QMG score) relative to placebo. Alexion moved 6.5 percent higher today.
- Whole Foods Market, Inc. (NYSE: WFM) high of $68.95. Whole Foods has been doing surprisingly well amid the market downturn. Today, the company got a bit of a push higher as Deutsche Bank started coverage on them with a Buy rating, and $75 price target, suggesting 12.3 percent upside from yesterday's closed.
- American Campus Communities Inc. (NYSE: ACC) high of $41.00. After the market closed yesterday, S&P announced that American Campus would replace Lubrizol in the S&P MidCap 400 starting September 16th.
- UBS AG (NYSE: UBS) low of $11.21. UBS getting hit today as word spread the bank will report a loss for the third-quarter as one "rouge trader" lost about £1.3 billion in a series of trades. The stock moved over 11 percent to the new mark Thursday.
- Perfect World Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: PWRD) low of $13.90. Perfect World cut it's third-quarter revenue outlook today. The Company decided to slow down in-game promotional activities for some of its existing games in the third quarter. The Company now adjusts its revenue guidance for the quarter to be between RMB702 million and RMB741 million, as compared to the previously announced revenue guidance of RMB756 million and RMB803 million.
- CNinsure, Inc. (Nasdaq: CISG), low of $7.36. CNinsure reported the Special Committee of its Board of Directors has received a notice from TPG Asia V MU, Inc., Kingsford Resources Limited, a company controlled by Yinan Hu, chairman of the Board of Directors and chief executive officer of the Company, and entities affiliated with him, and CDH Inservice Limited that they have unanimously determined to withdraw the non-binding going private proposal dated May 14, 2011. CNinsure moved 31 percent lower on the session.
- Aixtron SE (Nasdaq: AIXG) low of $16.30. Aixtron issued new 2011 revenue guidance of €600 million to €650 million and EBIT performance of 25 percent to 30 percent. The Management has also reviewed the existing equipment order backlog and has decided, as a matter of prudence, to reduce the previously published order backlog by €100 million.
