drugstore.com (Nasdaq: DSCM) 110.9% HIGHER; Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of drugstore.com in a deal with an enterprise value of $409 million. Under the terms of the merger agreement, drugstore.com stockholders will receive $3.80 in cash for each share of stock.

LightPath Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPTH) 52.6% HIGHER; announced today that it has continued the expansion of its direct selling channels in China as part of its strategy to deliver high volumes of aspheric lenses and laser delivery systems to Asian manufacturers of optical equipment.

TranS1, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSON) 42.6% HIGHER; has received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for its AxiaLIF 1L+ product line. AxiaLIF 1L+ is an instrumentation and implant system for L5-S1 lumbar fusion.

The Talbots Inc. (NYSE: TLB) 26.0% HIGHER; reported Q4 loss of $0.14, three cents narrower than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter came in at $292.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $294.71 million.

MediciNova, Inc. (Nasdaq: MNOV) 23.0% LOWER; plans to offer, subject to market and other conditions, units consisting of shares of its common stock and common stock purchase warrants in a firm-commitment underwritten public offering.

Charming Shoppes Inc. (Nasdaq: CHRS) 19.6% HIGHER; reported a Q4 loss of $0.08 per share, narrower than the analyst estimate of ($0.19). Revenue for the quarter came in at $575.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $553.13 million. Same-store sales rose 9%. Charming Shoppes also named Anthony Romano as its new President and CEO.

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT) 17.1% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.26, four cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter came in at $244.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $236 million. Red Hat sees Q111 adjusted EPS of $0.21 - $0.22, versus the consensus of $0.22. Also sees sales of $252 - $255 million, versus the consensus of $244.6 million. Red Hat expects FY12 adjusted EPS of $0.94 - $0.96, versus the Street estimate of $0.93, and sales of $1.05 - $1.07 billion, which compares to the analyst consensus of $1.03 billion. Baird upgraded shares this morning.

Scholastic Corporation (Nasdaq: SCHL) 11.8% LOWER; reported Q3 loss of $0.81, versus analyst estimate of ($0.22). Revenue for the quarter came in at $393.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $402.8 million. SCHL sees FY11 EPS of $1.25 - $1.40, versus the consensus of $1.93. Also sees FY11 revenue of $1.9 billion, versus the consensus of $1.91 billion.

Synthesis Energy (Nasdaq: SYMX) 11.2% LOWER; shares appear to be correcting today following a more than 33 percent rise over Tuesday and Wednesday's trading sessions. Importantly, the stock could not hold over the $2 level.

Dynasil Corporation (Nasdaq: DYSL) 9.6% LOWER; a little profit taking today after Dynasil closed 55% better yesterday. News yesterday said Dynasil unit, Radiation Monitoring Devices, was granted additional U.S. patent claims for advances in a detector material capable of responding independently to both neutron and gamma radiation.

Aveo Pharma (Nasdaq: AVEO) 9.0% LOWER; shares seem to be breaking below several technical levels today, including the $14 level. Shares closed at $14.82 yesterday.
