According to a report from Dow Jones, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) will get first shot at signing a search deal with AOL, LLC (NYSE: AOL), AOL CEO Tom Armstrong said today. The contract between the two is set to expire at the end of this year.
Armstrong believes that his company will get the same economics in a deal despite Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) making a big push into the realm of search.
He notes that a new deal would need to be financially good for AOL as a whole, not just their search business.
