Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) +$3.03; Shares of Casino stocks (Resorts & Casinos Sector) - are up over 2% today.

NeuroMetrix (Nasdaq: NURO) +$2.85; Stock is seeing upside action with no significant news reported today. The stock has been a battleground between longs and shorts.

Career Education (Nasdaq: CECO) +$2.75; Reports Q3 EPS of $0.26, ex-items, 3 cents worse than estimates.(0.29) Revenues were $462.4 million vs. $452.02 million consensus. CEO Bob Dowdell said, ""Although third quarter results were disappointing, the board and management of Career Education Corporation took a number of significant steps during the quarter to resolve our current issues, improve our operating results, and lay the foundation for future growth."

Medicis (NYSE: MRX) +$2.66; MRX and Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") has approved ZIANA(TM) (clindamycin phosphate 1.2% and tretinoin 0.025%) Gel. ZIANA(TM) Gel is the first and only combination of clindamycin and tretinoin approved for once daily use for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 12 years or older. ZIANA(TM) Gel is also the first and only approved acne product to combine an antibiotic and a retinoid.


DOWNWARD MOVERS:
Ceradyne Inc. (Nasdaq: CRDN) -$5.96; No significant news released today, however, shares may be falling as results or uncertainty from the election.

True Religion (Nasdaq: TRLG) -$5.11; Reports Q3 EPS of $0.37 (ex-items), 7 cents worse than estimates.(0.44) Revenues were $42.9 million vs. $47.74 million consensus. Reflecting current visibility for the remainder of 2006, the company adjusted its expectation of total sales for the full year to $138 million to $140 million, representing a growth rate of 35% to 36% over last year. Earnings per diluted share, before giving effect to the one-time expenses related to the arbitration settlement and unusual banking expenses, equal to $0.08, is expected to be in the range of $1.11 to $1.12 for 2006. Current FY revenue consensus is $149.98 million and EPS consensus is $1.27.

Hospira, Inc. (NYSE: HSP) -$4.55; Reports Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.45 (GAAP EPS was $0.35) vs. consensus of $0.45. Revenues were $646.6 million vs. $673.93 million consensus. Hospira continues to project that the adjusted earnings per share for full-year 2006 will be between $1.97 and $2.02, despite the lower growth rate in sales. Current FY EPS consensus is $1.97.

EGL (Nasdaq: EAGL) -$3.27; Reports Q3 EPS of $0.48, versus the consensus of $0.47. Revenues were $832.7 million vs. $828.59 million consensus. EGL Chief Executive Officer Jim Crane commented, "Our gross revenues increased in the third quarter reversing the temporary decline experienced in the second quarter as we continue to increase revenue with existing customers and win business from new customers. We also had several very successful logistics implementations in the quarter that grew our customs, logistics and other net revenue by 17% during the quarter. We continue to focus the organization on profitable revenue and operating income growth across all product lines in all geographic locations."

Acme Packet, Inc. (NASDAQ: APKT) -$3.25; Basic and diluted net income per share for the three month period ended September 30, 2006 was $0.14 per share and $0.12 per share, respectively.
