PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- One in three Americans say they’re not saving enough for retirement, Prudential Financial, Inc., found in a recent study. To raise awareness of an issue that affects everyone, Prudential is bringing its second annual 4.01K Race for Retirement to America’s Stadium and the West Coast.

The Challenge: In addition to running or walking 4.01 kilometers, participants pledge to increase their retirement savings by just 1 percent of their annual earnings.

   

WHAT:

Prudential 4.01K Race for Retirement

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. PDT, Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 (race begins at 10 a.m.)

The Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive, Pasadena, Calif., 91103

 

WHO:

NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend A.C. Green, who has partnered with Prudential to take on the 4.01K challenge and will be on hand—with the Lakers Girls—to support participants at the Rose Bowl.

 

Guests also include California State Treasurer John Chiang, who will announce the start of the race, joined by retirement readiness advocate California State Assemblyman Matthew Dababneh.

 

And of course, 12,000 runners, walkers and movers who have pledged to increase their retirement contributions who will take the 4.01K challenge. A festival follows the race and includes interactive games to educate consumers on becoming retirement ready, food trucks and a concert by a popular recording artist and performer. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Prudential’s Challenge Lab at interactive tents that bring to life behavioral challenges that often disrupt our retirement and long term financial planning. Arcade-like games will help break down these behaviors.
