SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/21/16 -- NVIDIA announced today that David Shannon, who serves as executive vice president, chief administrative officer and secretary, has informed the company that he will retire at the end of the calendar year.

Shannon, 60, joined NVIDIA 14 years ago as vice president and general counsel. He became senior vice president and company secretary in 2005, and executive vice president in 2009. He took on additional responsibility for HR in 2013 and was promoted the next year to CAO.

"He has helped guide and execute our transformation from PC graphics into a GPU computer company focused on VR, AI and self-driving cars. We thank him for his many contributions to our company."

Following Shannon's retirement, Brian Cabrera, who serves as senior vice president and general counsel, will lead the company's legal team. The company will work to recruit a leader for the HR function.
