Allianz Life Promotes Brent Hipsher to Vice President of Controllers

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) promoted Brent Hipsher to VP of Controllers in the Finance division. In his new role, Hipsher is accountable for financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial reporting, accounting policy, and general ledger support functions for all product lines. He also collaborates with business partners to ensure quality and transparency in accounting and financial reporting. Hipsher reports to Chief Financial Officer, Bill Gaumond.

Hipsher has been with Allianz Life since 2011, most recently as director of Accounting as well as director of Investment Accounting where he partnered with other divisions to implement changes in accounting for new investment types and annuity products. Prior to that, Hipsher was a financial manager for Medtronic, Inc. in Minneapolis where he helped lead the SOX compliance efforts for multiple business units and led a global project that improved account reconciliations for the company. Hipsher also held various roles in the Audit practice at KPMG LLG in Minneapolis.

Hipsher earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota, to be completed in 2016. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
