RBC Capital Downgrades Vivus (VVUS) to Sector Perform

RBC Capital downgraded Vivus (NASDAQ: VVUS) from Outperform to Sector Perform with a price target of $1.00 (from $4.00).

Analyst Simos Simeonidis commented, "Despite having the strongest anti-obesity agent, Vivus has been plagued by numerous issues, which have little to do with the drug's activity, but rather with IP, commercialization, the obesity market itself, the company's liquidity etc. We similarly view Stendra as a differentiated, attractive asset in the $4.5B ED space. However, we expect these issues to persist and we thus downgrade VVUS to SP."
