As Google and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) battle it out for world supremacy, Google's Android still appears to be the favorite among the masses. But, just how big is the difference between the two.
Global Web Index said today that there are three Android users for every one Apple iOS user globally. Android is being used by 51 percent of online adults, GWI noted, which benefits from teh operating system being available on a wide variety of devices.
Conversely, iOS is more popular among the affluent and also in mature markets, such as the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and Canada. The operating system is also making strong headway into emerging markets, as has been noted over the past several quarters.
