Mobile Users Conduct Lion's Share of Thanksgiving Day Shopping; iOS Outpaces Android on Order Size - IBM

IBM's (NYSE: IBM) Watson is aggregating U.S. e-commerce data to provide live updates on sales trends.

Watson says Mobile sales are up 35 percent over the same period last year, while traffic is up 52 percent. Mobile traffic for Thanksgiving was 60 percent, from 14.8 percent in 2014.

Average online order value is about $139 with a conversion rate of 2.8 percent. Sales compare with $125.25 last year and $132 realized in 2013.

Bounce rate was last at 30 percent and abandonment rate is at 77.8 percent.

Notably, when looking at average order size by operating system, Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS appears to be topping Google Android on most accounts. iOS also accounted for about 22 percent of e-commerce sales (whether mobile or via desktop) and Android was just north of 7 percent.
