Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is on watch following positive commentary from Re/code over the weekend.
The report highlights how Twitter's Moments initiative is a possible replacement for Disney's (NYSE: DIS) ESPN, which has been the de facto sports programming network for a number of years.
The author says he finds himself checking out Moments more and more for update on his team, while also noting that Snapchat’s Live Stories offers similar features.
One complaint is that the author would like to see more user-created content about sports events, not just things thrown together by sports leagues and individual teams. Re/code would also like to see more teams on Moments, though that is more likely to happen as users view the service more and more.
Shares of Twitter are lower in early trading.
