Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is said to be seeking a second supplier for its Apple Watch.

According to Digitimes, citing Chinese-language blog Apple Daily, Apple is planning to release its next-generation Apple Watch in mid-2016 and has been in discussion with the likes of Foxconn, Wistron, and Inventec about a potential manufacturing agreement. The current Apple Watch manufacturer is Quanta Computer.

Apple is said to have placed orders for 4 million Apple Watch units in Q4 ahead of expected elevated holiday demand. Overall sales of the device are expected to exceed 10 million units in 2015.

Notably, Apple was originally expecting to place orders for 6 million Apple Watch units in Q4, but trimmed that number back on lagging demand.
