Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is launching a new program for its work productivity suite, Office.

According to ZDNet, Microsoft now is allowing customers to become an "Office Insider." The following was posted to the dedicated site: Office 2016 is now rolling out around the world, but we’re already hard at work on the next wave of updates. We’re asking Office 365 Home, Personal, and University subscribers to help make the next Office even better. To join, install the Office Insider build. Once installed, you will get early access to the new Office innovations. Then tell us what you think, your feedback will make Office great for users worldwide. If you are a Mac user, hang tight. We’ll add Office Insider builds for Mac in the coming months.

Office Insider is limited to Office 365 Home, Office 365 Personal, and Office 365 University. The program is also available for Android, those using Macs, and Windows 10 mobile.

Unlike the Windows Insider program, Office Insider users will test features that are one to three weeks away from their final release.

Two new add-ons to PowerPoint 2016 for Windows -- Designer and Morph -- will be the first items available for testing.

Roll-out of Office Insider in the U.S. starts today and will expand over the coming weeks and months to different markets. Shares of Microsoft are modestly lower Friday afternoon.
