Facebook's (Nasdaq: FB) Instagram is looking to tap a little more of the e-commerce market.
According to DigiDay, the photo-sharing social media site is testing the usage of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) 3D Touch to interact with ads in new ways.
Users would be able to scroll through a selection of shoes, shirts, and other clothing items based on how they pressed the display. On the initiative, one ad exec commented, Force touch gets interesting, because instead of quickly tapping Shop Now to buy this one thing, you can choose from two or three offers. It makes for more frictionless shopping.
Instagram would also begin to utilize Apple Pay to provide for even more of a seamless shopping experience.
Shares of Facebook are down 1.5 percent.
