Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)(Nasdaq: GOOGL) is poaching former Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) employees as it looks to continue pushing ahead in the wearables game.
According to the WSJ, Google has hired multiple engineers, software developers, and project managers from Amazon's Lab 126 following the failed launch of the Fire smartphone.
Google also renamed its Google Glass wearable to Project Aura.
Along with Project Aura, which is being run by Ivy Ross, Google is working on a slew of other wearable devices. Notably, Ross will be reporting to the head of Google's connected-home unit, Tony Fadell.
Shares of Google are indicated higher early Thursday.
