"Today's announcements further extend HP's long-standing relationship with VMware to simplify the implementation of the software defined datacenter and cloud environments," said Antonio Neri, executive vice president and general manager, HP Enterprise Group. "These products, services, solutions and reference architectures will provide customers with the building blocks to transform to a hybrid infrastructure foundation to efficiently power the apps and workloads that run the business."

HP, VMware Expand Global Server OEM Agreement to Accelerate Network Virtualization Adoption HP and VMware are also announcing the industry's first global sales, support and go-to-market agreement for the VMware NSX" network virtualization platform to help customers accelerate the deployment of new high-performing applications, simplify data center fabric and operations and improve security. This agreement builds upon the previously announced HP-VMware NSX" networking solution and includes a complete, end-to-end network virtualization consulting and support capabilities.

In addition, HP's hardware L2 Gateway solution, based on HP FlexFabric 5930 switch OVSDB and VMware NSX integration, as well as the industry's first jointly developed federated HP software-defined networking and VMware NSX network virtualization solution enabling seamless integration of physical and virtual data center infrastructure, will attain VMware certification.

"The software-defined data center enables companies to evolve beyond hardware-centric architectures to create an automated, easy to manage hybrid cloud platform that can meet the demands of both traditional and emerging cloud-native applications," said Carl Eschenbach, president and chief operating officer, VMware. "VMware and HP continue to help our mutual customers drive innovation with greater speed and scale."

New Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Solutions Deliver Unprecedented Density, Performance To enhance the value of workplace productivity, HP is introducing more flexibility and choices of end-user computing solutions with VMware Horizon® 6.1 and NVIDIA GRID to deliver the broadest choice and highest density graphics virtualization options in the industry.

Powered by HP OneView, the new system gives customers a single management interface. Optimized for VDI use cases, these solutions provide variable, full lifecycle support options and open interoperability with third party top-of-rack networking switches and hypervisors from leading vendors.

These end-user computing solutions can support up to 3,500 users and are fully tested to run desktop virtualization applications at optimal performance, helping customers reduce provisioning time, cost, setup and installation errors. Each solution has the flexibility to be built and delivered directly from HP or by a certified channel partner aligned to the specific needs of the customer's data center, freeing up time and resources.

Transforming to a Hybrid Infrastructure HP extends the Converged Architecture partner program with the new Converged Architecture 700 (CA700). Built on HP BladeSystem, HP 3PAR Storage, HP OneView and integration with VMware vSphere® and VMware vRealize" Operations", the CA700 offers simplicity with the only integrated system with converged management across compute, storage and fabric. Ideal for private clouds and enabling mobile workforce and mixed workloads, customers may experience infrastructure their way, as a single integrated stack built and delivered by the certified channel partner of their choice, saving time and resources.

The CA700's integrated stack enables VMware administrators to simply manage the entire stack as one. From the vSphere console, VMware administrators can deploy and expand clusters and perform day-to-day operations across the entire stack. This integration of one infrastructure with one management platform enables customers to focus on applications and meeting business needs.
