Data Suggests That Facebook (FB) Should Launch Dedicated News App - GWI

Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) has been rumored to be working on a news app and at least one research firm thinks this is a no-brainer for the social media giant.
GlobalWebIndex cites a recent survey in saying: At the moment, “reading a news story” is the fifth most popular action among the 20 or so that GWI tracks, with exactly half of the site’s active users doing this each month. And with reading articles also featuring in the list, it’s not hard to understand why Facebook would want to find new ways to encourage (and monetize) this type of behavior.
GWI also noted that active Facebook users spend about 43 minutes per day reading online press and/or news stories in all forms.
