Marc Manly and Keith Trent to step down from Duke Energy

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Duke Energy today announced that, in connection with a recent divestiture and changes in responsibilities, Marc Manly, executive vice president, Commercial Portfolio, and Keith Trent, executive vice president -- Grid Solutions and president, Midwest and Florida Regions, will be leaving the company and retiring by June 30, 2015.

Manly, 63, and Trent, 55, both joined Duke Energy in 2002.

"Keith and Marc have been highly accomplished members of my senior leadership team and have been instrumental in Duke Energy's growth and success over the last decade," said Lynn Good, Duke Energy vice chair and CEO.  "We thank them for their many contributions and wish them both all the best."

Organizational changes related to the departures will be announced soon to assist with a smooth transition before June 30.

Since 2012, Manly has served as executive vice president and president of Duke Energy's commercial portfolio. He is responsible for Duke Energy Renewables; Commercial Transmission; and Duke Energy International, with operations in Latin America. He previously served as executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Duke Energy.

Trent serves as executive vice president of grid solutions and president of Duke Energy's Midwest and Florida regions. Previously, Trent served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of regulated utilities. Prior to that, Trent led Duke Energy's Commercial Businesses organization as group executive and president. He has also served as group executive and chief strategy, policy and regulatory officer, and as group vice president, general counsel and secretary for Duke Energy.
