ROCK HILL, S.C., May 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  3D Systems (NYSE: DDD) announced today that its popular SenseTM 3D scanners and the Cube® flagship consumer 3D printer are now available in 100 Best Buy stores nationwide and online at BestBuy.com.

The placement of 3DS' core consumer products in select Best Buy retail locations increases the availability of 3D printing to all consumers and is another step forward in the company's continued efforts to democratize access of this transformative technology.

"We want to make it possible for anyone to experience 3D printing and scanning," said Peter Theran, Vice President, Global Consumer Products, 3DS. By bringing 3D printing to retail stores, we can grow our audience and give consumers an opportunity to interact with 3D printing technology that they otherwise may not have."

In-store displays will showcase the ease of using the Sense and Cube products for tech enthusiasts, kids and families, whether they are first-time uses or experts, and demonstrate the seamless integration of 3D printing into everyday lives. Features on the Cube and Sense include:

Cube 3D Printer – The first sub-$1000 consumer, plug & play 3D printer for everyday use, the third generation Cube 3D printer is available with faster print speeds, higher 70-micron resolution and multi-material, dual-color cartridge system that is easier to load than a 2D printer cartridge. Released in September 2014, the Cube has higher speed WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, permanently leveled print pad and seamless integration with the new Cubify® mobile app to make 3D printing easier than ever before.

Sense 3D Scanner – Sense is the only 3D scanner to deliver precise, instant physical photography in full color, so everyone can capture his or her scanable moments. Sense has a flexible scan size and can capture everything from a picture-perfect cupcake to a full-body selfie, processing data in seconds for an instantly 3D printable file. An intuitive interface makes it easy to scan and edit 3D printable files of objects large and small, while integration with Cubify and the Cube 3D printer provides a complete path from physical to digital, and back again.
