TORONTO, ON -- (Marketwired) -- 04/17/15 -- According to a survey by Staples Advantage Canada (NASDAQ: SPLS), the business to business division of Staples, corporate social responsibility, recycling programs, and environmental impact rank high as attributes for doing business with an organization. However, the survey respondents believe that their companies need to embrace more sustainable measures.

"Many of the organizations we work with are making sustainability a priority," said Susan D'Souza, senior national manager of Sustainability, Staples Advantage Canada. "They recognize there are tremendous benefits linked to engraining sustainability into their business goals. Cost savings, increased customer loyalty, fostering innovation and creativity, and of course increased employee engagement and retention to name a few."

More than 80 per cent of organizations reported that they prefer to do business with a sustainable organization. Looking internally, while 93 per cent of employees care about the impact their organization makes on the environment, nearly 60 per cent believe their company should enforce greater sustainability practices, with more than 95 per cent of survey participants willing to take part in an eco-friendly initiative at work.

Your organization can start by taking part in Staples Advantage Canada's National Clean Your Office Day. Take the pledge to clean your office on April 24th and win a Keurig Bolt for your company.

You can also do twice the good by purchasing Eco Friendly products for the office. Starting April 22- July 30, 2015 every $100 purchase of Eco Friendly products will help build outdoor classrooms with Evergreen.
