Teach For America and DIRECTV Co-Host MATHx Series of Talks around Math Education

WHAT:

  DIRECTV and Teach For America are launching their national partnership to inspire students to love math and enhance math instruction with MATHx – a program featuring short, energizing talks exploring innovation, exciting trends, and achievement in math education. MATHx talks will be preceded by a math exploration fair featuring interactive booths hosted by ST Math, DIRECTV, City Year Los Angeles, the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, and Teach For America, among others.
 
The MATHx program reflects Teach For America and DIRECTV’s joint commitment to ensuring all students cultivate the math skills needed to be successful in college and beyond.

WHAT:

MATHx is a series of short, energizing talks exploring personal experience, innovation, exciting trends, and achievement in math education. Audience members will be inspired about the possibilities a great math education opens, and will leave MATHx with new ideas and tips for how to improve mathematical literacy for students in an engaging and real-world way. MATHx-LA is the inaugural event in a three-part series, with future talks to be held in Oklahoma and Colorado.
