Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Hosts World's Top Student Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship Teachers

Sara Blakely, Founder of Spanx, to Attend NFTE Global Showcase Honoring Young Entrepreneurs From 18 US Communities and 11 Countries

NEW YORK, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Outstanding young entrepreneurs and teachers from around the world will be honored March 25 in New York City at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship's (NFTE) Global Showcase. Sara Blakely, one of the nation's best known and most successful entrepreneurs, will speak with students at the evening event.

"It is a great privilege to showcase these exceptional entrepreneurship students and teachers," said Shawn Osborne, President and CEO of NFTE. In total, the NFTE Global Showcase, presented by MasterCard, will feature student and teacher delegations from 29 locations around the world (list below) including India, China, Mexico, Ireland, Israel and Colombia as well as more than a dozen U.S. communities from San Francisco to Miami. The Showcase will give the students an opportunity to display and sell their business products to attendees. Students invited to the Showcase will be recognized as Global Young Entrepreneurs and the most outstanding teacher in each participating region will receive the Global Enterprising Educator Award.

At the evening Showcase, students will be able to pose questions to Sara Blakely. Blakely founded Spanx with her personal savings in 2000, was named the world's youngest, self-made female billionaire by Forbes Magazine and one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People. Since launching the Sara Blakely Foundation in late 2006, Sara and Spanx have donated roughly $24 million to The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation that supports education and entrepreneurship among women.
