Infonetics Assesses World's Top Telecom Equipment Vendors in Fact-based Scorecard

TELECOM VENDOR SCORECARD HIGHLIGHTS

• Huawei stands out as a leader, steadily gaining market share in major telecom infrastructure segments and staking out a strong position in software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV)
• Cisco is a leader due to its long-time position in carrier networks as the top router and switch vendor, and is viewed by service providers as a rock-solid innovator
• Landing just outside the leader category due to lower market momentum is Ericsson, whose strong market presence in RAN, services revenues and solid financials puts it in the established player group
• Also falling just shy of the leader category is challenger Alcatel-Lucent, who put in a strong showing in market share momentum and customer loyalty, but suffered from balance sheet issues
• Challenger ZTE continues to grow its share in routers, carrier Ethernet switches, mobile handsets and broadband CPE, resulting in fair market share and a good showing in market momentum
• Established player Nokia Networks has pared back to focus on mobile broadband and its services organization, both good, but these moves placed it at the lower side of market momentum and market presence
