Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is looking to get more Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android users to switch over.
9to5mac said Apple will soon launch a recycling and trade-in program which will accept non-Apple smartphones. Consumers turning in devices will receive gift cards that can be used toward the purchase of a new iPhone.
The system will run in similar fashion to the iPhone Reuse and Recycle program, which launched in 2013.
Shares of Apple are up 0.7 percent in mid-afternoon trading.
