Apple (Nadaq: AAPL) PC shipments should get a boost in the upcoming quarter with the introduction of its revamped MacBook line.
Earlier in the week, Apple debuted a 12-inch MacBook and upgraded specifications for its MacBook ProAir notebooks. Digitimes sees Apple shipments growing 30 percent sequentially in calendar Q215, outpacing industry expectations calling for just 3 percent sequential growth in the PC segment.
Notably, Apple is expected to see a 25 percent drop in shipments sequentially for the current quarter as it transitions to the new products and looks to trim current inventory.
Sources recently told Digitimes that PC shipments could see a 20 percent sequential drop in Q1, but it wasn't made clear whether or not current sources were the same.
Shares of Apple are indicated for a higher open amid Tuesday's 1.9 percent drop.
