Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)(Nasdaq: GOOGL) will expand its Google Now app with the inclusion of third-party data.
The WSJ noted Friday that it will be the first time Google has allowed third-party into the predictive search app.
Previously, data like sports scores, traffic, flight details, and more, came directly from a user's Google accounts via searches and scraping of Gmail accounts.
Google Now has opened to 30 third-party apps, with data coming in as 'cards,' which contains just enough, quickly-consumable information that a user is looking for.
Shares of Google are up 5.4 percent.
