Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) has commenced sales of real unlocked iPhone 6/6+ units.
While U.S. customer had been able to order an unlocked version of the latest iPhone models before, they would have been shipped with a T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS) SIM card. The latest offering is SIM free, with the iPhone 6 starting at $649 and iPhone 6+ at $749, according to the Apple Store.
The new devices would now be an option for users on Verizon (NYSE: VZ) or Spint's (NYSE: S) network, but want to remain contract free.
Shares of Apple are down 0.6 percent.
